The Technology Innovation Center at the University of Technology (UTECH-TIC), in collaboration with JCS Silicon Valley (JCSSV), recently announced the launch of a mentorship program to support the entrepreneurial journey of young professionals seeking to transform their business visions into reality. By adopting the theme, ‘Giving Wings to Dreams’, this collaboration aims to bring industry professionals from diverse backgrounds to provide guidance & knowledge transfer in various aspects of business development. JCSSV shares UTECH-TIC’s values and commitment to promoting the entrepreneurial aspirations of its members, and is proud to be a collaborative partner in its efforts to build a supportive ecosystem for advancing its vision.
Emphasizing the strategic benefit, Mr. Nigel Cooper, Head of the Joan Duncan School of Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership (JDSEEL)/Technology Innovation Centre, observed: “Many entrepreneurs and start-ups discount the importance of mentorship, but this can be a fatal mistake. A well designed and implemented mentorship program is in keeping with the Strategic Plan of UTECH-TIC and it is expected that the clients will reap benefits from this program.”
Ms. Yvonne Elliott Mattis, Incubator Manager, notes “’Coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is success' Henry Ford - so to our partners I say quoting Hellen Keller’s words ‘Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much’. Through collaboration, we can help entrepreneurs achieve their dreams.”
JCSSV looks forward to strengthening this partnership as UTECH-TIC strives to become the premier host for entrepreneurial development in Jamaica and beyond. Please visit https://www.utech.edu.jm/service for more information about UTECH-TIC.
